Yenimuhacir, Keşan : ウィキペディア英語版 | Yenimuhacir, Keşan Yenimuhacir ((ブルガリア語:Булгаркьой), ''Bulgarkyoy'' "Bulgarian village) is a town in Keşan district of Edirne Province, Turkey, It is situated in the eastern Trakya (Thrace) plains at . Its distance to Keşan is and to Edirne is . The population of Yenimuhacir is 2045 as of 2011.〔(Statistical Institute )〕 The old name of this village is Bulgarköy. It was a Bulgarian settlement during the Ottoman Empire era. During the Second Balkan War on July 7, 1913, the Ottoman Army surrounded Bulgarköy and proceeded to massacre between 450 and 1100 inhabitants (depending on source), including women and children, burning the village to the ground in the process.〔(Carnegie Endowment for International peace, Report to inquire into the causes and Conduct of the Balkan Wars.
